Learning From Industry Veterans

  • Production-First Approach

Every lesson starts with real scenarios I've encountered while managing PostgreSQL systems for high-traffic applications. We don't just write queries – we solve actual business problems.

  • Performance Under Pressure

I'll show you how to diagnose slow queries at 2 AM, optimize indexes when your system is struggling, and make critical decisions when downtime costs thousands per minute.

  • Mentorship Beyond Code

After eight years of PostgreSQL development, I've learned that technical skills are just part of the equation. I'll help you think like a database professional and build confidence in complex situations.

Learn From Real Database Challenges

These aren't textbook examples. Each case study comes from actual projects where PostgreSQL expertise made the difference between system failure and success.

E-commerce Platform Rescue

When a growing online retailer's PostgreSQL database started failing during peak traffic, we had 48 hours to find the bottleneck. The culprit? Poorly designed indexes on their product catalog tables.

  • How to identify problematic queries using pg_stat_statements
  • Index strategy for high-volume read operations
  • Connection pooling configuration for traffic spikes

Financial Data Migration

Moving 10 years of financial records from legacy systems to PostgreSQL without losing a single transaction. This project taught me that data integrity isn't negotiable – even under tight deadlines.

  • Zero-downtime migration strategies
  • Transaction log analysis and validation
  • Rollback planning for critical systems

Why I Teach PostgreSQL This Way

Three years into my database career, I faced a crisis that changed how I think about PostgreSQL education. A client's main application was grinding to a halt, users were complaining, and I had to figure out what went wrong – fast.

The problem wasn't that I didn't know PostgreSQL syntax or concepts. I could write complex queries and explain indexing theory just fine. But when faced with a real emergency, I realized I'd never learned how to systematically diagnose performance issues or think through the implications of different solutions.

"The gap between knowing PostgreSQL and confidently solving PostgreSQL problems turned out to be much bigger than I expected."

That's why our programs focus heavily on troubleshooting methodology and decision-making under pressure. You'll learn to ask the right questions, gather the right data, and choose solutions that actually work in production environments.

By autumn 2025, we'll launch our intensive PostgreSQL mastery program. It's designed for developers who want to move beyond basic database operations and become the person their team turns to when PostgreSQL problems need solving.
